AAPI Heritage Month Posters
Awareness Campaign Design
This project was created to celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month through a series of large-scale posters displayed across campus. I was asked to design something educational and bold—pieces that could stand alone as both visual statements and tools for learning. I focused on making the information approachable while celebrating the individuality and influence of each featured figure.

Typography and layout were chosen to keep the messaging clear and easy to digest. Each poster uses strong hierarchy and strategic color choices to guide the viewer while keeping things lively and cohesive across the set. I pulled from cultural color research and used bold, modern shapes to bring a sense of energy and movement without relying on cliché design motifs.

Beyond the content, the goal was connection. These designs were meant to spark curiosity, start conversations, and remind students of the importance of cultural recognition on campus. Whether someone stopped to read one fact or several bios, the posters needed to feel warm, inclusive, and rooted in celebration.

This series was part of a larger initiative where I created monthly posters for the Student Engagement Office highlighting observances like Women’s History Month, Black History Month, and Breast Cancer Awareness. It gave me the chance to build thoughtful, cause-based designs with intention—always finding ways to balance message, emotion, and visual impact.
